Just made this tonight as a component to a great steak dinner. Most of you have probably boiled corn on the cob before. Here's my method for doing it perfectly every time.

PERFECT CORN ON THE COB (serves 4)

4 fresh ears of white corn
Large pot of cold water
Kosher salt
Unsalted butter

Place corn in pot of cold water, cover, and place over high heat. Once water become "hot" add 1 Tbsp of Kosher salt and return the cover to the pot. Once water comes to a rapid boil, turn off the heat. The corn can be kept warm in the water for 10 to 15 minutes.

Slather the corn with butter. Season with Kosher salt and serve.

This method yields the perfect texture for corn on the cob.
