Who knew?

I know a few comedians have begun routines with that very line, yet it is more appropriate when people are face-to-face with humorous situations ...and live to tell about them. I was going with a friend to Baja, Mexico a few years back when we decided to enter a pastry store on a small street and have a beer and a pastry.
We sat and then I saw an area of the proprietor's work and current projects. He was into the creation of a beautiful wedding cake; it appeared perfect. Smoothed frosting, much piping and for the "Op-Art" perspective he was using native critters like plastic geckos as decoration.
I was really impressed; returning to the table I told my friend about the great cake and that this man was a great artist in his own right. I believe the cake was for an American wedding because of the decorations--little memory pieces on the cake for the guests. However, when we returned to look and the cake all but one of the decorations had moved to another pastry, a few feet away! Who knew? I will always check twice now when admiring the work of people...
We laughed... what could we do?
