So, here's the story...

My landlady is a middle-aged Polish woman who's way into everything holistic. Ever since I moved into my home two months ago she's been on me to try Kangen water. For those unfamiliar Kangen water is processed through a special machine that separates the negative and positive ions. The negatively charged water is meant for drinking, while the positively charged water is used for washing your face and watering your plants. The theory is that since we are exposed to so many positively charged ions, our bodies need the negative ion water.

I did a little research on the subject and found everything from people who said it's a bunch of hogwash to folks who claim it's cured them of everything from allergies and headaches to more severe illnesses.

Two days ago my landlady brings me a gallon of this Kangen water to try. The first thing I noticed was how deliciously clean it tasted. For lack of a better way to put it, Kangen water is extremely easy to drink. I made my coffee with it the last two mornings and I can't remember it ever tasting so delicious.

But here's what's strange. My energy and mental focus has been through the roof. For anyone who knows me, you know that I'm naturally high energy and quite focused on everything I do. For the last two days I've been operating at an entirely different level. Coincidence? I don't know, as energy and focus are two of the things Kangen lovers boast about. BTW, I should also mention that all of the foliage around my home is watered with Kangen water. You should see this place. It looks like Hawaii.

I'm just wondering if there's anyone in our community who's familiar with Kangen water? If so, please let me know your thoughts.

Hey Amanda,

I can't believe the amount of traffic created by this topic, as well as the amount of new members it's brought in. The latter was never my intention. It just kinda happened.

The more I'm reading and hearing from people the more I believe that Kangen is the real deal. I love it... and judging by the responses, I'm not alone :)

Kirk
Yeah - it's hard to sort through the hype online! But that's why I say - for me - I had to base it on personal experience. Luckily - you've had the chance to try the water yourself, too. :)

Good things come to those ready for them, and who are dedicated to their purpose/mission/work. :)
Hello Amanda, we have been kangenized! I so enjoyed your post that it got me fired up to post my own two cents. There is no competition only cheap knock-offs. The competition just preys on gullible people with their bogus web-sites claiming to be as good as Enagic only cheaper. I won't even mention the names but shame on them selling junk to people looking for serious relief to health issues. I am sure you will have a blast sharing the message of true health and probably make a healthy living doing it. This is the best! The para-dyne shift in modern medicine has arrived and we will ride the wave.
Thanks so much for this, Martin!! I, too believe the paradigm shift is upon us..... but like you said above, too - a lot of people find it hard to believe......... and yes - I think dragging really is the right term. A friend of mine actually REFUSED to drink the water because she didn't want to buy...... she didn't even know the price - but was afraid to do so for fear of what it might be/what it might cost???...... not sure... but it's so SAD!!!!! It's such a basic, wonderful thing for our bodies, and makes such a difference for so many people! She has health problems...... and - I'm not sure whether backing off - or pouring it down her throat is best....... she might get mad at me in the future when she actually does discover it, that I didn't put more pressure on her to drink it! oh, the irony. thanks for sharing your thoughts!! :)
The majority of plants like the mild acidic water. Cactus' love the alkaline. Martin
thanks for the info, Martin!!
Kagaen water doesn't "Cure" ills but it removes free radicals. Free radicals are impotant in aging, processing hydration and reoxigenation of cells.

Well, free radicals are essentially a bunch of very active and unstable oxygen molecules , which often damage important cells in our body, including DNAs (aging the bearer of those cells and DNA structures). It is known (use of known indicates absolutes,...I don't like absolutes and require more choice and momentious energies as a cause) to be the leading cause of your body's internal oxidation process as well as over 80% of those chronic diseases. I will say here, my brother is a naturist, in everyay. If it is something contrived by man, he is vehememnetally against it. He is raw food vegetarian and macro mineral consumptionist of microminerals. While Kagen Water it is still not 100% proven yet, this Kangen water is said to contain a lot of active hydrogen molecules, which would bond with free radicals and then turn into water (H20) to be flushed out of your body safely They combine and remove the aberrant inonization of molecules. As a result of that process, it is believed to tone your body from the cellular level and to supercharge your immune system and self-healing power.

This unmatched power of deoxidation and detoxification is the reason why this water is rewarded with such a special status. Better yet, this is only water, after all. Since there are no known side effects, you can drink as much as your body needs to cleanse itself.

General Characteristics of Kangen Water
1. Ionized and Alkaline

Since water (H2O) is made up of hydrogen and oxygen, it can be ionized and split into two different parts, the hydrogen-rich and the oxygen-rich, through the electrolysis process. Alkaline water is the hydrogen-rich part and is known to have a strong power to dissolve and soften materials.

Although being ionized and alkaline itself isn't considered to have much medical merit to your body, you will find it extremely useful when it comes to cooking with this water. It not only shortens the cooking time but also extracts more flavors and essence from the food you are cooking. Even tea and coffee taste better. No wonder increasingly more restaurants and cafes in Japan are now taking advantages of this merit by installing commercial units in their kitchens, whether discreetly or loudly advertising.

It is also known (there is that word, again) to prevent hangovers if you drink this water when, or even after, you consume alcoholic beverages, which are very acidic by nature. And many bars in Japan are now serving Kangen water as a part of their services. Inconclusive, but interesting.

2. Micro-Clustered Water Molecules
Kangen water is also known to have small clusters of 5 to 6 water molecules, as a result of the electrolysis process. This counts approximately 1/3 to half that of tap water, whose cluster is usually made up from 13 to 15 molecules. Small clusters also mean the increased ability of water to dissolve elements as well as to be absorbed into your body.

This is particularly important for your metabolism since smaller elements pass through cell membranes (semi-permiable membrane) more easily and eliminate acidic wastes and toxins from your body in a more effective manner. With this water, your body will enjoy the quicker cellular hydration and super waste elimination.

3. Concentration of Essential Minerals
The electrical charge rearranges healthy minerals that are naturally included in your tap water. As a result, Kangen water contains essential minerals, such as Calcium, Magnesium, Sodium and Potassium, in a form that can be assimilated into your body more easily.

4. Low Oxidation Reduction Potential: -200mV and Below
As you probably have heard already, it is now a common knowledge that a lot of medical benefits come from anti-oxidative property. Oxidation Reduction Potential (ORP) is a measurement, when it's on the negative side, that indicates the power to slow down oxidation (aging) process by using to eliminate "Free Radicals" safely from our body. This ORP factor is perhaps the most important characteristic of Kangen Water because this is what distinguishes itself from any other water on the market, including its lesser grade cousin, Ionized Alkaline Water.

Technically, in order to be classified as Kangen Water, it needs to show a negative ORP in the range of -200mV to -450mV, while typical Ionized Alkaline Water shows anywhere between +100mV and -100mV, depending on the quality of the machine (more neutral in ionized charge).

Additionally, while this is not a point of differenciation technically, Kangen Water machines typically are able to electrolize the water even further by mixing some salt during the elecrolysis process (no desalination machine is comletely accurate. it will leave a residual salt to Alkalinize the H20 level molecule levels.

Reverse Osmosis (Sea water desalination)
Reverse osmosis (RO) is a filtration method that removes many types of large molecules and ions from solutions by applying pressure to the solution when it is on one side of a selective membrane (semi-permiable membranes). The result is that the solute is retained on the pressurized side of the membrane and the pure solvent is allowed to pass to the other side. To be "selective," this membrane should not allow large molecules or ions through the pores (holes), but should allow smaller components of the solution (such as the solvent) to pass freely.

Reverse osmosis is most commonly known for its use in drinking water purification from seawater, removing the salt and other substances from the water molecules. This is the reverse of the normal osmosis process, in which the solvent naturally moves from an area of low solute concentration, through a membrane, to an area of high solute concentration. The movement of a pure solvent to equalize solute concentrations on each side of a membrane generates a pressure and this is the "osmotic pressure." Applying an external pressure to reverse the natural flow of pure solvent, thus, is reverse osmosis. This process permits inonization of the molecules from one side to the other of the membrane.

It is similar to membrane filtration. However, there are key differences between reverse osmosis and filtration. The predominant removal mechanism in membrane filtration is straining, or size exclusion, so the process can theoretically achieve perfect exclusion of particles regardless of operational parameters such as influent pressure and concentration. Reverse osmosis, however, involves a diffusive mechanism so that separation efficiency is dependent on solute concentration, pressure, and water flux rate.

As I statebelow: I think they are the same process, one is a natural process (reversed), the other is the use of elcetricity to cause the ionization and production of free radicals to better serve the bodies cells in osmotic transferes within the cell. My original colege majorwas medicine... But they required too much work!

Manahan, S. E. (2010). Water chemistry: Green science and technology of nature's most renewable resource New York: Taylor & Francis.

This is a book found in my brother's house which seems to be the source of his "Opinions." Those quotes that I have used are strictly for justification concerning what this book says in comparison to what your landlady said. Who is correct...? well, it sounds like they are saying the same thing when they are talking about the semi-permiable membrane to control densities in a volume of liquid on either side of the membrane (passive diffusion). Or, at least that is what I think after studying the subject. My brother will be pleased that I am no more confrontational about his using Reverse-Osmotic water. According to the book by Manahan, this process of ionic gathering of molecules will polarize them and permit them to respond in ways (passively) to "Balance an aging system."

Thanks for the food for thought.......
